Direct relationship
Country: Nicaragua
Region: Nueva Segovia
Farm: Luis Alberto Balladarez Moncada's Finca La Bendicion
Altitude: 1,300 meters
Processing method: Honey
Varietals: Pacamara
Tasting notes: Luis gets strawberry yogurt, malic acidity, molasses, dark chocolate with good body and lingering aftertaste.
Pacamara is an uncommon varietal, the hybrid of the traditional sweet Paca and the giant Maragogype. Luis and Beneficio Las Segovia create a coffee that is sweet, distinct, and flavorful.
We are pleased to be able to offer this coffee from the 2018 first place Cup of Excellence competition winner, 2020 first place Cup of Excellence winner, and the farm of our fiend, Luis Alberto Balladarez Moncada.
Honduras Siguatepeque Buen Pastor
Coffee Details:
Country: Honduras
Region: Siguatepeque
Producer: Stanley Yoder
Altitude: 1,550 - 1,600 masl
Processing method: Washed
Mill: Beneficio San Vincente
Varietals: Catuai
Tasting notes: Fruit fragrance with peach notes. Creamy long aftertaste and really complex.
Buen Pastor won Honduras' Cup of Excellence in 2007 with coffees scoring over 92. When we visited Stanley last year, we expressed interest in this Catuai coffee grown under banana and peach trees adjacent to the plot that won the Cup of Excellence years ago. After Stanley harvested this coffee, Beneficio San Vincente's Benjamin Paz processed it for us.
We are grateful to be able to work with Stanley Yoder as he both restores this beautiful coffee farm and also supports a local orphanage.
